Maya Road Goodies

This week, I created a Maya Road 4x4 Canvas for my Made With Love assignment.

We want to feature some Maya Road goodies. I altered this cute little mini with paints and Maya Mists(the orangey yellow is my fave now). I added lots of Maya Road goodies to this album

Inspiration behind this album: I wanted to document all the 'go-to' food places we always go to.My family loves to eat and whenver we are lost as to what cafes or restaurants to go... we will head back to these same places. Our comfort food places or simply convenient places which offer our fave food. I thought it would be nice to journal down these regular hang-outs.

The Cover: I applied gesso with a Crafter's Workshop mask.. see those cute prints.. then I wash it over with teal paint. Then splatter some yellow Maya Mists. Awesome color combo for me!

My kids love eating at Ikea because they get to see the kids furniture (their dream home apparently) ... while my hubby and I love the meat balls and fried chicken wings.

Yep.. our dessert places... ice cream!!! We love visiting new ice cream palour... Daily Scoop is our fave... Udders is mine personally (because it has the best Rum & Raisins)... hahaha

Mini Album - house

This is one of my fav mini album "Our first home".......... I really really enjoyed the process as much as the result. Why? Because we just sold our house, will be shifting to somewhere slightly bigger. I will miss this place.......... this has been home for the last 12 years.......... our first home when we got married.......... the place where we had kids, and built so many memories. Thus, I am full of mixed emotions........ happy to get a bigger place yet sad to move. Though this house looks dated......... we didn't have much 12 years ago......... we didnt even reno when we moved in.......... but we have built a loving home for ourselves and the kids. The irony is now we have more 'dough'........ can afford to do up the next house... put in 'designer kitchen' and more......... but still my heart is with this place. Well, here is the mini: 1) Cover I cut a 'house' shape from raw chipboard. Cover it with Webster Pages. Add in lace, trims, pearls. Layer a hambly over and add these Cosmo Cricket letters. 2) Page 2 I use Jenni Bowlin Bingo cards as the pages but I cover it with Webster Pages journaling cards. Love these cards... so convenient... I wrote all my journaling on it. This page, I add pics of the people who lived here. My mom, my kids and us of course. 3) Page 3 This is the living room (as Singaporeans called it)....... hall as Americans call it. I took a pic of the large space and I journal about what we do here and what we put here. The kids can spread out their entire village of Polly Pockets... toys and even a mini kitchen. This is where they play. 4) page 4 This page I talked about our fav nooks - like the couch..... the computer table in the hall where we work. The discipline corner too! Hahaha.... i took a pic of the little one going thru time out. So funny! Yes.. that's the Kwok family famous time out corner where Charis will not forgot.... discipline is good for the kids! 5) Page 5 Oh.. the kitchen.... I hate it initially cos it is so dark and small. Not enough work surface to work on for a keen cook like me. But we made the most of what we have. I even taught Charis to cook here. Lots of mother & child bonding in this little kitchen. Love it now! 6) Page 6 Our rooms...... what can we say? We sleep very well! For the kids room, I talked about my fav - the library I made for them. I bought bookcases and squeeze in many many books. I like that it is accessible and they can go to that corner and read anytime. My fav! 7) Page 7 My scrap space - a tiny corner in my mom's room. My place of sanity and inspiration. And the other page - my fav reading corner. That little space on the right of the couch..... the place where the winds blow. Love this spot. Where I get my reading done! DO you like this? I love this album alot. And I finally used up ALL my webster Pages 3 collections of papers and journaling cards. Very sad! boo-hoo... boohoooooo....... i love webster pages a lot. I have made countless LO, projects and cards. Someone get me the new papers........ I am having withdrawal from zero WP. LOL!

Mini Album - GROW

I spend last week and part of this week to finish up this mini album. Since the beginning of Oct, I had 5-6 ideas for mini album. This is 1 of them. Hooray......... done! Concept: I realised over the years, Charis has many different types of 'ambitions'........ her first was to be a mommy.... then a plumber (I also choked on this one)......... thus I decided to document her changing ambitions starting from 2.5yrs till now 7 years. It is interesting to note what influenced her choice then. It has definitely evolved... PHEW!........ the plumber phrase is over!!!! I like that this mini album involved her too......... she picked out the photos, she had her handwriting on each page, she helped me lay out the alphas on each page, she used my Sizzix to cut out the alphas....... and these colours best represents her vibrant personality. So 'her'! Cover: "When I grow up.........." I want to be a Mommy. I want to be a plumber: I want to be a artist: I want to be a zookeeper: I can't keep being emotional when I see these pics. My girl has grown up...... she is no longer that chubby face toddler......... *sob... sob*

Mini Album - I live (Cover)

Oh yes... this is the cover. Dont know why I cant load more than 5 pic in each post. This cover is actually lace cardstock (Ki Memories) over chipboard. I painted everything black and added crackle black paint. This gives it a 'embossed' look. This idea came from Ali Edwards.

mini album - I live

This mini is inspired by the Scrap Pink Challenge over at CMK. This is Juliana's challenge... we have to scrap 6 "I' statements..... with 6 photos. I did a mini with this concept. I have not completed the full journaling yet... will be filling in more. I took the photos today for this challenge. I love them! The inside pages are actually fabric...... I wrapped thick CS with fabric and put a photo on each page. I used black and red fabric. This is so fun! Each of the pages are 4x6 tags from Teresa Collins. Very easy to use.... these are perfect for journaling.
