hand me some love

I bought some Websters Pages Yacht Club papers when I stepped into my LSS not too long ago. I was pretty mesmerized with the blues, yellow, red and kraft. Immediately an idea jumped at me. I want to make a journal book for hubby. To record his journey --- told him life is too sudden sometimes I want him to write some letters to our daughters I want them to know him - his real self - his faith , his struggles, his victories So, I set out with 6 pieces of pattern papers and create this. I am happy with the textures.
Some sample of the inner pages...... all blank at the moment but I am loving the colors ALOT
And whatever is left, I create this layout for him. These colors are cheerful enough yet not too feminine for a male layout. That's what attracted me!
I love sewing here and there on my pages!!! I love that sewn in banner.... hmm... I will try more of these in my next projects
Thanks for dropping by! And waving to my new blog followers......... glad to see you here! Life is pretty busy now but I am still on time for some DT work...... and happy to do that! And 2 biggie projects up soon...... one for my darling niece birthday!! She deserve a BIG PARTY BANNER.... dont you think? She deserve some lovely pom-poms. She needs some layouts displayed on her birthday!!! hahaha..... it's the Aunt's idea!!! LOL

Hi friends, how was your Christmas! 2 days before Christmas, I fell sick....... really bad flu bug and I had to lie in bed for 2 days. What a bummer!!! Here's a project I did with my children: Wrapping presents for their favorite church pastors and teachers. I used some older collection of Websters and decorate these brown lunch bags. I used a Vellum here and I really love the sentiments on this paper. And this cutie... my girl made this for her favorite pastor. What a cute deer! And this one for a special lady. Layering vellum with paper! Simple and sweet wrappings! We put a OPI Nail Polish in each of these bags! Hope you had a great holiday season! See you in 2011. Happy New Year to you!

These color from Websters Pages "Sweet Season' just lighten up my day! So I use these papers and embellishments for THE SCRAPPIEST #85 sketch.......... A few of my favorite things.................. I still like this picture of myself so i scrap it again. I listed down all my favorite things like : lace, trim, vintage, flowers.... polka dots... on this page. YOu can guess... I use lots of my fave stuff too on this page....... See the Websters Pages Netting... I made a full skirt for the dress form.. layered another trim (which I misted)....... then I color a Tattered Angel Chipboard.. is that a mirror or magnifying glass... anyway, i added a netting there... "Dont forget"........ I love the title because many times we forget what is important to us. These photos are just some lazy days at Botanic Gardens... running about... laughing... just enjoying one another's company. I like such simple 'retreats'........ it is a reminder that Life has to be measured by moments... but just the big things we achieve or accomplish. I love these photos of Ellise with her Daddy... of course she can really wiggle up to daddy and get him to piggy back her. She just has her charming ways! Of course, Daddy dont mind. I just have to rub his back after that....... LOL! Capture their fun together... I am teary thinking these little kiddos will one day grow up and be away from us!!! They better not forget us, their parents! LOL! Techniques & Tips: - I misted with my fave Candy Apple and Tattered Leather (Glimmer Mists). - I love love the New Wonderfall motifs... flowers.. flowers ... nice white - since I am a 'texture' kind of scrapper, I have to add in trims and bloomers... who can resist these from Websters Pages? Ok, that's all I have for now.... more coming on Thurs ........ Have a great week ahead!

So she chose Number 20....... and you are isay said... congratulations and happy 2 yrs blog-a-versary!!! so generous of you to giveaway great prices...thanks for the chance to win! i wish many many more years of wonderful blogging! you will get a surprise pack of vintage trims, seam bindings, little trinkets... Yay... yay!!! Congrats! Email me at solouloulou@yahoo.com Now, here's a gift I did for my sister with her newborn baby. This was one of the featured project over at Websters Pages. Thank you WP!
When I posted this over at WP, some thought I spend a lot of time working on this!.
No Way!
Let me breakdown for you how to get this project going.
Day 1 (30mins)
- cut pattern papers to fill the 'holes'.... each about 2ish by 3ish...
- I just randomly chose any Websters Papers I like and start cutting
- next I go through my embellishment containers and started picking out 10 items I want on this tray.
- then I wrote on a paper some medium I like - crackle paints, Shimmerz paints.
- then i decide on the number of photos I want on this project. 4
Day 2: (45 mins) - assembly
- Just arrange them into the holes, matching your bellis with the papers.
- I went on and played with 2 mediums,.... painted a Maya Road pacific with crackle paint and Shimmerz it.
- Voila.... after 45 mins it is done!!!
Yes.. break down big projects into smaller task. I only have 30 or 45 mins per day to work on it so I divide the tasks into smaller bite size portions to max the time I have.
So the next time you embark on a BIG project, spread it over 2-3 days. It will be done in no time.
The same goes for my Prima purse.
Day 1 - all the painting and misting work in 30 mins.... I had 2 little girls to help me. they love this! They just dab paints as they like on the canvas. This is fun to involve them
Day 2 - mommy works alone... adhering the photos and embellishing....
So, share with me if you find this tip helpful for busy parents and working career woman like you!
Schedule art or fun in your daily living... it refreshes your soul.

Rak Winner and some new projects

The RAK winner is ...............................
Ailei Adeline.
Here are some recent projects I did using Websters Pages. I wanted to try something different with this die cut which I have been hoarding. Do you hoard stuff? hee..hee... "Look up" ... i love this photo of my girl beaming... looking up... totally optimistic! That row of bloomers was hard to part with........ seriously I relented when I saw that WP will be releasing more in other colors. I just need to hoard these bloomers! LOL "ONE"........... oh.. this cute face is my latest obsession... she is my niece.... my sister gave birth to this cutie one month ago.... now ANGEL face is finally awake more often. She is the object of our ga-ga... goo..goo in this household. Since I wont be having more kids, having her will be soooooooo princessy fun! I played with the Maya Road envelope again... can't get enough. Of course I had to dab some white paint for that vintage look. Now to the new CHA stuff: What are you excited about? This year 2 brands got into my top 3 list: In no particular order, these 3 lines will be getting the most of my scrappy budget. 1) Websters Pages....... of course.... I am in love all the new papers, whimises.... trims and netting... what can you say? They up their bar so high this time. 2) Glitz Designs..... seriously this was not on my radar..... but look at their new modern vintage prints and books... oh... I am seriously in love. At least some excitement here. I am voting for Scarlett and Love Nest. 3) Pink Paislee....... their partnership with House of 3 pays off.......... they capture the old, elegance of Paris theme papers well. Just look at the endless possibilities of altering the papers to your liking. I like such idea... to create your own unique colors. So cool! Setting the tone for this over saturated mass production industry! I was hugely disappointed with one big manufacturer.......... they did so many collections of gorgeous pp last CHA ..... shabby chic...... watercolors....... and now they went into the overly sweet sugar overload and cutsy stuff........ sigh!!! Well, I guess everyone has their favorite but I just wished manu were a bit more consistent.. not swinging to the extreme....... So, what's your fave? Share with me! As a scrapbook instructor, I am always listening to what others like....... what captures their attention. But you will still see my shabby chic vintage touches in my classes! I can't wait for the new arrivals. Have a great weekend!

hello Gold Coast

Finally after settling the homefront, I can get back into some scrapping, sort through photos from my trip.
It was a fruitful trip... the weather is really cold there... thankfully some days we get some sun.
I hope to post some pictures of my trip later.
As the usual scrap-a-holic I am, I headed to a newstand and bought a few scrapbook magazines.
To my surprise.... see my find!!! My LO is this issue.... oh... what a happy moment!
Here is my LO using MME papers..... thanks SBM for choosing my LO!
Made my happy day! And finding it in Australia is really a delight.
Now back to my scrapping, here's 1 I did using Websters Pages.
"Solitude" I use a Pencil Lines sketch #193... I love love this sketch!
I stash it away and I knew I will use it someday.
Some techniques:
- use a mix of yellow and black mist (loving the black one by Heidi Swapp)
- use string and just coil it around
- use motifs from the gorgeous WP papers
- using just 3 main colors (blue, yellow and red)
Hope you like this. Enjoy the rest of your week
I will have some happy news on Monday and come back for a RAK.

Magical Wishes Class 4

Hello friends, thanks for dropping by. I am away in Australia now. Will try to reply your emails when I get back. Here's a post I have scheduled: A layout I taught last month "Magical Wishes 4". Using the gorgeous papers from Websters Pages. Believe.......... I love tearing the paper to reveal the other side. Websters has such lovely double sided paper... we can't decide which side to use. Use this technique!!! Thanks for all who attended... we had FULL Classes... all kits are used up. I loving cutting the quotes, motif from their paper. Here's some I cut out and embellish it around the photo.
We had lots of fun in my class. See you soon for the next Magical Wishes 5. Woohoo.. the series keeps growing, so is our love for Websters Pages.

try some empty space

Hello weekend!!!! I love it when it is here... which means some family time before I fly off next week to Brisbane!!! I am excited because I have heard so much about it and have never been there. And of course, before every trip, it is always tiring to finish off 101 things on my 'to-do' list. I get pretty organized about it until the last 2 days... some laundry I forgot to pick up from the dry cleaners... and the list goes on!!! See, that's why I have the list in the first place. But at least, my sample for Made With Love July Class is ready. Phew... I was brewing all the ideas for months... finally when I get to touch the papers... oh... the embellishments.... I cannot stop. Seriously this is a 3 hour class but I felt like I want to take it to 10 hours cos there are some many details I want to add....... and add.... and add......... Somebody stop me! Yes.. time did! I gave myself today to finish it and tomorrow I can drop it off. Hooray!!! But then again... I may add some stuff when I return from my trip! *Wink*..... I have to say this album makes me happy... I am so excited to teach it!!! Remember to call the 'hotline' on 1 July when seats go off pretty fast. Aida will have a really cool class too. You gals are spoilt for choices at Made with Love. Here's 1 I did in between the stress of making stuff and working... LOL! "Gift"....... I love this girl of mine... we went outdoors... she went picking 'flowers'... well, turn out to be weeds... she insisted on keeping them for me!!! LOL I went simple this time..... lots of empty space.... really clean, dont you think? Do I want to add more? NO.... just some fussy cutting.... clean simple embellishments. Just a story I want to tell....... about this cutie girly of mine. Finally I used the Websters Bloomers....... I love these! Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend. I will schedule a post next week and hopefully share about Brisbane..

Websters Feb Challenge

This month over at Websters Pages, the challenge is to print your photo onto pattern paper. Lucy Edson gave a simple tutorial on how to do this. I just had to try it. So much texture and interest on the photo. I select a light color paper (I think it was the Christmas papers) and edited my photo with Photoshop. Love this photo of my girl holding my hand when she sleeps. Read my journaling later, ok!!! Get a kleenx ready! LOL "Hold My Hand"....... This LO was inspired by 3 different parts: First, Lucy challenge at Websters. Second: this local magazine in Singapore. Can you spot the blues, pinks and yellows I just love love this combination. So ethereal and soothing!!! Thirdly, I am inspired by Jaz's way of transforming the Christmas Paper. She painted it pink. I chose yellow and white paints....and mist with Shimmerz Sea Foam (blue)... it was babe-licious colours. I dab some pink (Worn Lipstick) crackle paints at the edges. Then I misted again with Pearl Mists (Maya Road) See the shimmer.... that is the Pearl Mist. I highly recommend that!!! YSS has that mist. Here how the Shimmerz and the Maya Mist looks. Gorgeous-ness together! A detailed shot: I love the Elle's Studio journaling cards (provided by YSS). it was a Valentine theme card but I used it for this baby LO. And did you spot that BLUE circle with our hands holding together. I mist it with a circle mask!!! Simple to do.... focus point for my story. And now, journaling: You are going thru a separation anxiety phrase... prob becos u started pre-school. Before you sleep, you need to hold my hand. That gives you peace and security. Sweetie, just know that I am always here for you. And to share some thing deep in my heart: Someone asked me why I was not chosen for DT for Websters...... Honestly I dont have an answer for that. I was pretty disappointed when the announcement was made. I honestly was happy for the 2 girls, Karola and Steph... they do gorgeous creations. I went thru some self evaluation and also 1 day to reflect. And of course, I think I have lots of room for improvement esp in the photo dept. I guess this whole DT ... nobody will know. Am I angry or bitter.... NO WAY! I refused to go down that road of resentment. I am still in love with Websters ...... I am still creating with their stuff. That's speaks of my love still. And I will be forever grateful to Terri and Brandin for giving me a chance to Guest DT for them. So, take life as it comes... celebrate.... and be thankful!

Family Time

I made a house project last month. You can see the project here. And I made this album to put inside the house. I wanted to document the things we do as a family....... and really the daily stuff are important. Cover: Capture the times we prayed as a family. Sitting in a circle and holding hands. okok.. .my hands are missing cos I was taking the picture. hee..hee... The other side for journaling. eating together. I enjoy the times where we eat and chat up over what happened thru the day. A great way of connecting. The kids love to talk.... talk about their silly stuff.... well, it is important to listen to them.
We played Legos, build Thomas the train tracks... and of course do art work together.
Here they are painting Mommy's project... hahaha... the fence for the house project. cool, right!!! These 2 girls playing on their own... okok.. this is like the perfect setting... they usually fight after 30 mins .... LOL
JOurnaling about the home improvement projects we did.
In the home now, we have this DIY magnetic wall where we put our travel magnets. Love that it is family project together.
Using a quote from 7G stickers.
I added a vellum over the photo.
Our happy family.
ok.... this one is a little sentimental.... I decided to write them a letter......... maybe it is the sudden death of someone, which frighten me.... so i decide to pen my love and thoughts to them..... in case God calls me home suddenly.
I have added more pages here and there... but for now... hope you like these pages.
Using all Websters PAges papers, embellishments.
