YSS

Here are 3 LOs for YSS. More coming your way. Tune in on Wed as I load my album and a project. Erica sent me SO MUCH stuff I didn't know where to begin. Contentment: I used about 7 pattern papers here. This is a challenge to myself....... scrap a 'male' LO and use as many PP as possible without using any flowers or lace. haha.. that was hard! All from Scenic Route Garden Grove collections. Scrolls from Maya Road. BRANDS: This LO is for ME! Scrap about all my fav brands from Kate Spade to Nine West to Mango (not the fruit) to Zara. And the colour theme is black and lime green. So, from the stash of Scenic Route Garden Grove papers YSS sent me, ......... I just picked out all the lime green flavours. Cool, right! Then I sticked down all the brands tags.... very fun! Spray some lime green glimmer mist too. Elmo Overdose: This cute little girl LOVES Elmo but sometimes it can be tooo much and today she just lets out a loud yawn after watching it for a while. I captured the progress of her facial expressions. I squeezed in 8 photos. I added some stitching (my fav now)........ to direct the eye to the title. Those cute little chipboard flowers are from Scenic Route too. I just sprayed RED maya mist on it. There is still some stock of this red mist in YSS. My advice: Grab it before it runs out. Some updates on YSS: 1) From Monday onwards, every DT member will post about their fav CHA items. Be sure to leave a comment ....... you get a chance to win NEW STUFF. HOw cool is that! 2) Aug COntest it up. Do a mini album. Quick...... do it and you can win something. 3) Oh.. I love this....... SALE...... SALE... 20% off EVERYTHING........ and if you are like me who loves vintage...... CHECK OUT YSS Vintage Shoppee........ totally awesome things Erica has picked up! Dont wait..... things are flying out now. I got to grab those butterflies and flowers! Wait for me.

OLW - WHY

This word is so NOW for me....... cos I went thru a very emotional weekend 2 weeks back.
The death of a little baby. Though that baby is not mine but still to see the small body, in the hearse. It is painful. MOst of all, I love this couple and walking thru with them is not easy.
To see them holding the little body, refusing to let go. Just heart wrenching!
I asked many questions, ask God why? Why such a little baby has to die? Why must the parents go thru such pain?
Part of my journaling:
Why? i learnt to be real..... by asking God why? though I dont expect any answers or even any answers from others around me which are up to my satisfactory level. Yet, in the asking of Why, it is for my healing....... for my release.
Techniques:
I found this fabric paper.... weird though.. the people at the craft store said it belongs to the fabric section. Then some said it is paper. Whatever!
I love its softness... its texture. I stamped on it.
For this page, it is about the rose cos this is the flower the couple chose to put in the coffin. A lovely colour which match the onesie the baby was wearing. A soft pink. I stick to this colour for my page but added Gesso, stamps and fabric. See I handsewn a piece of fabric at the top right, then I stamped on the piece. Love the effect.
I also tore some music sheets and randomly sticked them down. Some crackle paint here and there!

Look at these Webster Goodies

I am screaming in delight. These are the new CHA Summer collections. You got to see it!!!! "Postcards from Paris" Papers: Trims: Look how gorgeous they are. Love pink loops! Vellum: I havent never like printed vellum but this one just blew me away! I want it !! Fabric tags: how cool! And these... I dont know what to call these but these will add such a whimiscal touch to my projects! I need ALL of them. I am 'begging' MWL to let me teach with these papers........... hahaha... of course they will! Look out for my next class. Now, here are some LOs mixing "Sweet as Cherry Pie" & "Magical Wishes".... do you know I bought more of these papers! I just cant get enough of Webster Pages! JOY Some details: I layed Prima flower Vines, form a cluster of embellishments at the right with vellum heart, Heidi Swapp mirrors, lace, Jenni Bowlin pearl centre. Did you spot Heidi Swapp ghost butterfly? I stamped it with Stazon white and ink the edges red, with a red pen! And hooray.. this JOY LO was one of the featured projects over at Webster Pages. 8 wishes: Here is my take on the July challenge - to scrap about birthdays. Here I gave her 8 wishes since she turned 8 this year. I wrote my blessings, wishes, dreams for her where the arrow hides a hidden tag. She can pull it out and read them. This page suits my sweetie princess a lot. She is all pink, pure and precious. Some details: see I stamp a flourish and heat emboss with white embossing powder. I mat the photo on a 'bed' of lace. And that Melissa Frances oval frame - I have been hoarding it for years. Some stitching on the paper too. Cut out some rose from WP paper.

Projects

Hmm... things have been emotional for the last week for me. I will share and possibly scrap about it another time.
But to help me cope, I went to 2 happy activities - scrapping and shopping.
Here is what made me poorer over the weekend. I think I spent over $300(Singapore dollars) in 2 days in GAP store alone. If you are residing in Singapore, Gap is having such a fantastic sale. I just couldn't resist. See my increasing shoe collections for my girl.
Horror of horror, I bought 6 pairs of shoes. 5 for my little one. She chose the gold one..... well, I just indulge her. Charis, the older one had 1 pair but she turned fashionista.... she grab 2 tops and a cute little embrodiery skirt. I just love them!
See this cute ballet flat......... I told you she has my genes... she just loves flats now. And for scrapping, here what I did for our new house. A door sign "Welcome" using Webster Pages. I couldn't resist... went out to LSS and bought more WP papers. I will be creating more from WP.
I love the effect of Gesso, stickles and also clear UTEE....... it looks like dew drops on the fences.
I painted ice cream sticks and layer some crackle paints over. I love love crackle paints now!
And here's a sneak for my class which I am teaching this month. Playing with lots of medium. 3 Classes in July. I think the first class on 18 July is fully taken already. Call Madewithlove and check the class schedules.

In the mood for Graphic 45

The good thing about moving is I discover lots of stuff I never knew I had! I had (grasp) thing still in their original packaging..... still in their paper bags!!!! (never tell the hubby!!) Then I found some Graphic 45 tucked in a bag. GRASP!!! I decided that I better use them. Here is what I did: Some LOs, some projects, 1 card. Card: To announce our new address...... hand sew a piece of fabric on a paper. Embellish on a Maya Road Chipboard house. very fun way. I stamped on the fabric with Staz-on. Oooo... I love the effect. LO: Do not WAKE me up! This is a fun one to document my quirk. My hubby and kids love to wake me up early on a Sat morning. I hate it. Saturday is the ONLY day I can sleep in. sigh! They will do all sorts of funny tricks to get me out of bed. One will scream "fire"...... one will tickle my toes..... one will try to put her smelly clothes on my nose"...... see my grumpy face when I wake up!! hahaha.... For this LO, I played with Glimmer Mist. (I think I need more colours). And I paint the chipboard frame with crackle paint and then ink it with walnut ink. I like the texture. LO: Friends across the globe I just want to remember these ladies who pour so much into my hearts. they offer me their friendships when I was alone in the USA some years back. See the metal tag... I added some white and bronze Utee on it. very fun! Just be careful, the metal can get very hot. I stacked some tags and cut-outs together to form a cluster. Oooo...... happy news. This LO was LOTD over at CMK forum. Check it out. Altered tin: I have 4-5 of these tins from Christmas. Love the size. I wanted them to keep my 'little' savings. Here i have altered 1 to keep coins, leftover change for my 'luxury travel"... hahaha... save till my hair drop if I would reach the amount for luxury travel. But still, to spur me to save more... added in my fav elements on this tin. Before: After: ok.... I have been good. Used up my stash. The sad news is my Graphic 45 papers are almost used up. I want to buy the new collections. Can't wait! Check out their blog for sneak previews.
