Favorite of 2010 - Part 1

A year has passed.... memories edged in our hearts........ beautiful moments captured! This has been a great year! I am thankful for the journey...... the new experiences...... new skills picked up(photoshop, lol)..... I am learning to be confident in my style of scrapping.... Textures, layering, distressing.... colors.... There is a sense of romanticism mixed with whimiscal softness to most of my layouts! Ok, so what style do you call mine? LOL Here's a review of some of my favorite works for 2010: Beam : New Technique I learnt.... gesso a plain CS and then play with diluted paints to create your own background. Sweetheart: I love the bright vibrant colors on this page Bond: My signature style of textures, layering and distressing! All so me! Look up: A new way of playing with die cut paper. Tilt it for a change! How fun! Favorite things: Colors, colors and spray inks!!! All up my alley! Tag: a fun way to create a cute border. Dressform: I love the bodice MOST. Creating with Websters Ruffle Trim. So Hollywood, so glam! I like Ok, that's all for now! It is hard picking my favorites! I realise telling the STORY is important for me! The journaling, the photo... scrapping is NOT about major 'decoration' only! It is about capturing the stories for my family!
Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Christmas Presents.........

Hi friends, how was your Christmas! 2 days before Christmas, I fell sick....... really bad flu bug and I had to lie in bed for 2 days. What a bummer!!! By Christmas Day, I was much better and so thankful I can sit up and spend time with family and friends. Here's a project I did with my children: Wrapping presents for their favorite church pastors and teachers. I used some older collection of Websters and decorate these brown lunch bags. I used a Vellum here and I really love the sentiments on this paper. And this cutie... my girl made this for her favorite pastor. What a cute deer! And this one for a special lady. Layering vellum with paper! Simple and sweet wrappings! We put a OPI Nail Polish in each of these bags! Hope you had a great holiday season! See you in 2011. Happy New Year to you!

The Scrappiest

Hello friends, it's reveal time over at The Scrappiest. HERE. A new sketch, a new prize to win!!! That's really yummy! Go over and try this sketch. I finally dig into my Pink Paislee paper..... love the sweetness of this collection. Oh baby!!! Here is a really nice picture of my niece. I am scrapping lots of her pictures recently cos she has such a beautiful and calm look. Some tips: I use the Pink Paislee stamp and use it over the Artisan Elements. Cool right!!! I misted it with Viva Pink Glimmer Mist. And then use my fingers to run over with Viva Pink and dot it over the background papers. Messy but fun!!!! I am loving this butterfly stamp from the Pink Paislee line. What a fantastic buy!!! See I stamp a music note underneath the butterfly and top it off with seam binding. I guess I am happy with the overall result. Simple but layers of little details here and there. Thanks for dropping by. Remember to go over to THE SCRAPPIEST. HERE.

CP4U + Pencil Lines

hello friends, I am back with another 2 layouts............. I went into some very productive scrapping this week! Using Pencil Lines #41, this multi photo sketch is so fun! My take "Language of Love"............ I kept to the grid....... but delete some elements. Using Color Combo#163 of teal, red & white. I kept this to my shabby chic style, distress the edges, ink with red. Over at Creative Prompts for you#38..... this week's prompt is so fun! Hop over!!! HERE I also used a Pencil Lines Sketch #76 here, switched the circle element to a butterfly. Some random stitching...... Oooo.... my fave misting.... yellow and black... I really like how this turned out. The yellow, black and grey worked so well. I am loving the Pink Paislee papers and embellishments. Can you spot my new bob hair style? I crop it shorter this time. Ok, I had so much fun this week. I finished a total of 6 LOs using Pencil Lines sketches. I hope to win some prizes!!! LOL.... Btw, I am giving a RAK.... remember? To a person who can guess how many Pencil Lines sketches I will do up this week? I may just squeeze in another 1-2 more... keep guessing! Read my 2 posts before this!!! Pencil Lines Part 2

Hello friends, I am having a blast with the Pencil Lines celebration this week. Have you seen it? Hop over cos it is so much fun to see sketches interpreted in different styles. I chose to work with this sketch #43 from Pencil Lines. Larrissa did an amazing piece with this. Here's my interpretation....... "fell asleep in 1 Sec"
I like the vertical stip of 3 photos but my photos just dont stack well together so I chose this piece of Websters Paper to replace the vertical photos and place my photos on the side.
This is 1 way of moving the elements of the sketch around.
This little niece of mine is totally cute. My hubby just held her in his arms for 1 second and she just dozes off like that. With both hands in 'surrender' position. So cute!
And here's another sketch I tried.... sketch #108...
Karola, another of my fave scrapper tried this. Her soft and beautiful LO just amazes me!
Love her style too!
Here's mine.......... "Spread your wings" ............
I like the circle element but I can't find any I like... so I replace it with a doily.
This doily is a treasure find!!! LOL.......
And I went with the soft theme... cos the little princess is such a girly girl!
Some close up shots:
Can you spot I stamp some butterflies on pink pp?
See my crepe paper (pink) with some stitching? Oh, did you spot my splatter of white paints on the background paper.
My own touches........ used lots of Melissa Frances goodies here.
I am also loving my new Photo Actions. See this vintage action on the photo.
I Loooovvvveeee it!
Ok, I am done with 4 sketches as of today.
what is your guess? Saw my last post.
Make a guess how many layouts I will make from these Pencil Lines sketches.
Their deadline is 23 Oct.
Thanks for dropping by!

Celebrate with Pencil Lines

Pencil Lines is celebrating their 4th birthday. This is a great feat for any challenge site. I want to extend my congratulations to Anna and her team. What fabulous inspiration every week!!! On Sunday, they reveal a DT and their choice of sketch every hour. I have to say i was stalking their blog. Such gorgeous inspiration. I want to jump in and do some serious scrapping this week. These are 2 i did..... all with 2 hours. Why I love sketches: 1) They do most of the work for me. 70% done.. I just add 10% colors (choice of pp), 10% embellishments and 10% wendy's touches like distressing or inking or misting!!! I like to do such scrapping quick and fast esp when I know I have lots to scrap 2) I like that I can add or delete elements........ so cool, right! I didn't know about this till I got a sketch book. 3) I like to see different interpretation of the same sketch. It is like friends buying the same blouse and let's see what accessories you will wear it with. I love such mystery and reveals. Anyway, said too much.. :) Sketch by Anna My take "Sweet" Sketch 148 My take "Blessings"....... Hope this has inspire you to join in! See you soon with my next few sets of sketches I want to take part in. Now, I want you to guess how many sketches will I complete by 23 Oct. I will send a person with a RAK (full of seam binding) if you can guess the correct number of sketches i will use from Pencil Lines. Just to give you a clue: NOw i have completed the 2 above, I am finishing 1 on the way. Hmm..... how many in total will I participate in? I dont know too....... I am just scrapping as I go this week. How fun!!!!
