Finally got down to posting all these LO. Sorry I am 2 days late. The kiddo was a bit sick... the haze in Singapore is back and my kid can't take air pollution very well. Running nose, cough... all evident now in my household. Using MME Ooh La La kit from YSS. Here's the reveal: LO 1: Hello LO2: Focus My girl is into a puzzle phrase. I am doing puzzle morning, afternoon and night. How interesting! she is very intense. see her tongue when she got something right. LOL! LO 3: Dig in This bookworm reads all the time. She is a cutie. She finds a corner and reads. Today she found somewhere bright, near the window so she took out her polka dot umbrella and just read on and on. Btw, I have to highlight this Prima flower. Initially i was not keen to get this but after YSS sent it to me, I saw how lovely the texture is. 3 layers of fabric like material and tulle. How could I resist? LO4: Yummy Oh.. I love cupcake. We had a party where every kid gets to decorate their own cupcake. She is totally happy with hers. I took a large Maya Road cupcake and put a piece of fabric?? or we call it wadding at the top. Love the texture. LO 5: Safe in his arms I love my baby contented face when daddy is carrying her. Love this face!
Some details: stamping and stitiching. You can tell I am into stitiching recently. Just had to add some touches.
This chipboard heart from Jenni Bowlin. I emboss with sparkling powders and then I sprayed Glimmer Mist over it. I love love the effect.
LO 6: Intro to potty I started potty training with her at 18 months. Full of curosity on this new 'toy'. See her happy face. This set of chipboard alpha is from Maya Road. Love love the font. And so many possibilities. I painted crackle paint over it.

Projects for YSS

This month, Erica (Yourscrapbookstash) sent me My Mind's Eye Ooh Lala to work with. Wow... that's the 'For him" Series. I did a self challenge. What can I do with these papers. I want to max out, using these papers. Look at these gorgeous colours. Blues, yellows... LO1: Antiques I love this ledger paper so I used it as the background paper. I distress it by stamping and inking. I love the red title... (also from YSS).
Project: Welcome wreath
This cool wooden wreath is from our dollar store. Only $2. I use the MME papers and diecuts for the bird (from Maya Road). See the words "Welcome"... I added Tim Holtz Rock Candy. I told you I am loving this product. Project: Mini Album
YSS sent me this "heart' chipboard and what a great time to make a album for a family. Loving the fall colours... not too girly. Just perfect especially when the man in the house commented that my scrapping is too pink and girly. But I am giving this album to someone. hee... hee... This MME papers goes very well with 7G stickers. I used the ones "Remember"... I think YSS has new stock of these word stickers. LO 2: What's up?
That's my man! Cool....a thinking man.... always has something funny to say! See that corner. I dry brush some paint and sprayed on Glimmer Mist (coffeeshop) Project: Mini Album - HANG OUT
And I still have papers left from the MME pack... I cover these coffee chipboard with all the papers. And this album is dedicated to my dating places with my hubby. THere are some coffee places and ice cream nooks we love in Singapore. So this album is a list of these places. Cool to documents the places you dated. So, it is possible to max out your papers. This 1 MME pack, I made 2 LO, 2 mini and 1 altered project. Try it! And YSS has some glimmer mists now, MME papers........ all gorgeous stuff has come in! Check them out. And this set of stamps... I am selling them (to Singaporeans living here). Cos I dont want to incur heavy shipping. And I can meet you at LSS to pass to you.

Here's a happy album I did for myself..............yes... sometimes important to scrap about ourselves so our kids can know more about us.A sense of happiness filled my heart when I finished working on this album. Title: Bare it all.................hee..hee... from that tabloid looking photo... you would guess I am going to bare it all. hahaha... no way! Check out more in this post! I sleep with a slight frown. hee..hee... only my hubby will take such pictures of me. Hmm... but I am sure I am dreaming of happy things - scrapbook materials, Kate Spade bags..shoes.. how can I frown??? LOL
Scaly legs... yes.. I have extremely dry skin. And it shows on my legs. See I added crackle paint. hahaha.. yes.. sometimes my legs look like that.
My last finger is crooked. Yes.. my grandmom and my mom all have it. It is from the family line. So interesting, right?
I have a huge scar... dont know what you called it. Those allergic reaction I had when I had a injection. And now on my arm, this long 'snake'.
Well, by now, you would have thought I am living in misery or bitterness. NO!
In fact, I no longer struggle with self-consciousness....... I embrace these imperfections totally. That's what made me unique. Some are topics of humor and laughter in my family too.
I still wear skirts (to show off my legs though I have to load on heaps of lotion).... still wear sleeveless tops. Some details about creating this album:
I used lots of texture with papers.
Each page is 5x4 inches... created out of G45 papers... the papers are heavy weight enough. I dont need chipboard.
Then I layed on lots of other G45 papers.
Here this starfish is touched up with Rock Candy... oh... you got to try this Tim holtz latest stuff. Totally amazing! See the texture!
Same for this butterfly.
And I cut out lots of motif from G45 papers.. but I like to add my own details.
See I stamped a 'necklace' on this lady. Cool, right?
Here I stamp a lamp using Stazon black onto transparency. Loving this set of new stamps.
Well, do you want to know what hubby call this album : THE BODY PARTS ALBUM! LOL
He said he will use this to identify my body should we need to use it someday! (Roll my eyes)....
totally funny!

At least some good news!

Yes.. after a lousy mondday.... (Pearl will know) *wink*..... finally some good news.
  • 1 LO and 1 project were picked up for publication. I have been totally lazy in this dept. Finally sent some in everywhere and now 2 got picked up. Note to self: Wendy, go, send them in. What are you waiting for?
  • Someone who love my work passed my contact to a company and I will be doing some parent-child bonding 'scrapping' class in Dec. Wow.. that literally fall into place so nicely after I did my sample for them.
  • Someone text me yesterday with this cute msg "Can I pass you some Basic Grey products and you work something out of it for my launch?"... I was like "wow".. sure!!! I love BG...... shabby chic is totally my language.
  • And of course, things start to firm up a bit more but this big news (to me) can only share in the month of Nov.
  • My "Magical Wishes 2" class ( I teach in my LSS) is SOLD out within the first 3 days of launch. And there is a waiting list. Gals, be patient.... we hope to do more slots next month. I taught the first of 3 classes last Fri and it was a blast. I tell you, these ladies are die hard fan of "Magical Wishes 2". They simply love the class! And 1 lady said this"You do amazing things with Webster Pages papers, so inspiring"........ that made me cry! Yes... I am a cry baby. Gratefulness wells up within me.
  • I pull some muscle on my back today and I am now resting. Resting may be a good thing cos I have time to read. I hope I can teach on Sat. Pray for me. Our Lord is good!

So, I remain thankful and positive! There are some good things out there for me!

And I am also grateful for you, my friends who dropped by and left a comment. Always so encouraging! Many hugs to you!

Project 52 DT call

I decided to come out of my closet and tell you gals I am trying for Project 52 by Bad girls kit.
I love their kits as well as the gorgeous stuff their team come up with. That's always that attitude about them........ very creative!
Here's my 3 fave altered items I have done before: Altered CD case: a letter to myself I 'misted' the case with stazon white. Layer papers... added felt... a chipboard. See the little dots of white... I just sprinkled white utee over. That butterfly is resting on a decorative tape which has been heated... it crinkled! Love the texture! Christmas House: I made this house out of flat raw chipboard. Very fun project. Lots of embossing and inking. Creating textures from lots of mediums. My fave has to be the snow on the roof. That is white and clear utee, plus some glitter and lots of glossy accent. Dont heat them. Just spread them over. When it drys, it looks like snow. Another type of snow is dripping white candle wax over it. Just fun! Make sure dont burn the house down! LOL My art journal: I love playing with texture.. there are different types of tissue paper over the collage image. Love it. Then I drip glimmer mist on it. Pure fun! Have a look at the slide show of my art work at the right side bar. Thanks for looking!

Calling for Sophia

Calling for Sophia. See post here. I need to send out your winning package. I will have to pick another winner if I dont hear from you by Wednesday. Hope it is ok! The good news I have not been scrapping but clearing my mind a little. Reading a little here and there......... reading non-scrapbook stuff......... That's called clearing my mind. Sometimes creativity lurks around these corners. Took time with my family for a bike ride today which nearly killed my butt. Poor bum.... it is too painful now after riding for 1.5 hours. LOL! I think I exceeded all my exercise quota for this month!!! hahaha.... Then I did general shopping...... you know... the kind where you weren't looking for specific stuff. Then I stumbled upon a load of alter-able things......... can you imagine I found them at the gardening section of a store. That's really cool! That's freeing up my mind. To think outside the box... to think out of the scrapping stuff we are soooo used to!!! I like.... Thanks for popping by! See ya!

Playing with Glimmer Mists

Here are my experiments with glimmer mists! I love it! LO: Art happens at home Isn't this title so appropriate for me too? I like that my little girl loves to paint. She digs into my stash and creates her own colour. I read about this artist called Jackson Pollack. He was a famous American painter. From him, the famous term "action painting'... he paint from all directions, meaning he does not use a easel (a upright surface)... instead he spread his canvas on the floor and 'drips' paints in all direction. Read about him here. I was inspired by him. I sprayed marbles with glimmer mist and 'roll' them unto white cardstock(my canvas). Cool right. That's how I achieve the effect above. Sometimes I like to read outside of the scrapping world and into ART mediums, interior designing to get inspiration. This is one of them! Can you guess how many colours of glimmer mist on this one? My Journal page: I layered several tissue papers, of all texture onto this page. Stamp and spritz glimmer mist. But something I did which was different. I took a syringe and pull it into a bottle of glimmer mist. Then I 'inject' part of the canvas with mist. Yes.. I do not want the 'sprayed' effect... I want a patch.... see the top green part. See how the blop of mist travelled. I like it. Tag: God sent his angels I spritz 4 colours of glimmer mist onto a non stick sheet of paper. Then I put this tag over it. Love love the tie dye effect. Not a sprayed on look.... like pure magic colours on the background. Then I added my embellishments. That's a picture of me when I was little. The only few I have. It is blur, imperfect photo but I love it.
LO: Gran's Pillow
We love to use doily as a mask. I altered this doily by spraying it with "coffee shop" (a brown copper colour) and it came out so lovely for this LO.
LO: Beauty I use Yellow Daisy and Patina... love the combination of these 2 colours. So soothing on this page. I use a butterfly as a mask, then I journal inside. I also spritz on a fabric. I stamped, clear emboss butterflies and when I spritz on the mist, it resists it. LO: Precious Just layered on 4 different colours of glimmer mists. Love the look! Thanks for looking!

OLW - beauty

Here is for OLW - Beauty I use this verse from the Bible which is my fave: One thing I ask of the Lord and this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple Psalm 27:4 This verse calms me down a lot. To what is important. To worship God. To look upon his beauty. From him flows beauty, into my imperfect world - my thinking, my attitudes... my speech, my life. It inspires me to BE what he wants me to be. Beautiful inside and out! - I cut out some butterfly and use as mask. Then the white space for journaling. And I like what Lucy did on AMM where she gives a breakdown of a page. Here we go: - I love the texture of fabric. I sew then spritz with Glimmer mist. Then stamped on it. - under the word beauty (mist with Patina).. is a lace misting.. I just place my lace there and spritz yellow. - yes.. more stamps - Purple Onion Music Note. - can you spot the bird stamp - oh.. so cute - from Crafty Secrets. - this is sooo subtle.. which I like. NOt obvious. I stamp a Purple Onion butterfly. Clear emboss. Then I spritz some Glimmer Mist (Patina) over it. It resist the mist. Just clean the stamp image a bit. Just love the "now you see it - now you don't" effect. This page sums up my style: - layering - subtle little details ( i love little 'touches' like these) - stamping, misting - texture
