This one is one of them. LO "Read to me" I like banner so I decided to cut up some flowers and make my own version. I am loving my Photoshop a lot.. ran a action through these photos...add my own touches make the colors a litte faint.. a little dreamy... What do you think? I love these twine I bought from Daiso(our Singaporean $2 shop). Isn't amazing what you can find in this store. This project is supplied by YSS. Hop over now for your scrapping needs. Happy scrapping!

I am back in full swing after my vacation. Back to life... back to 'work'.... back to everyday.... It is kinda of hectic again with kids camps... art camps... etc.. But I like it back home. Somehow a fine balance between longing for a break and back to the comfort of home. Do you feel that way? You want to go away for a bit and then you miss home. Hmm.......... And today it's a good day for my scrapping... finished 4 LOs in a day!!! Phew... I was happy....... YSS sponsored this challenge site "Scrap it with a song' last week and I didn't manage to participate because of my vacation. But I caught up on some lost time and did this Challenge #8 "Girls just wanna have fun". "Remembering the FUN" ..... photos from Phuket. My girls really can teach me a thing about fun in the pool. I am way too 'cool' for their brand of fun aka soaking in water. My idea of fun is to lounge in the chair... soaking in the sun and sipping cola. They got me IN! I mist some 'waves' in the background... can you spot it? And I chose to work with the blues and red from the Prima Strawberry Kisses Papers. Now, since I am with the challenge at Scrap it with a Song... I might as well try Challenge#9 since I love love this song "Could not ask for more" Check out the song there! "Could not ask for more"...... scrapping about my hubby. I could not ask for more... he is my soul mate... my friend, my encourager.... my cheerleader.... my support... my 'mind'... yes.. he reads it like an open book. Cut the Prima Strawberry kisses papers and distress it.... now I am loving more new distress ink colors. Punice Stone and Tumbled Glass.... I layered a songsheet (vintage music score)... a Prima canvas.... and tucked some flowers, chipboard around it. Guess where is the hidden journaling. I cut this chipboard into half and tucked it here.
Yes... you are right.. the journaling is on the right.. the row of flowers.. pull it out and a journaling sheet appears.
I want to thank YSS for providing these beautiful stash for me to work with.
Thanks for dropping by. Have a great day.
I am off to sleep and ready for some serious shopping tomorrow at my fave clothing store ... MANGO... they are having a sale tomorrow...... yay!!!

In a reflective mood

Thursday is here........ sometimes I am amazed how time flies by. Now we are at mid point of the year...... I thought I just celebrated Christmas.... some presents are still unopened.......*wink* I love my life... but sometimes i wish it will slow down a little. And living in this little red dot (Singapore) does not help... city living is always hectic.... rushing seems to be the order... Here I created a LO for myself.... my mood this week... a little reflective.. a little spent... a little quiet........ a little cry for stillness...... a cry for a pause Guess where I hide the journaling this time........ Using the lovely coredinations paper... love the embossed butterfly... I love sanding it..... quite theraputic..... LOL! And I just add a random grid of Tim Holtz Shabby Chic papers... And my fave cluster of Prima, birdcage... and a Tim Holtz metal frame. I used all my favorites here on this LO..... it is for MYSELF...... hee....heee..
All papers on this page comes from YSS. My assignment for this month. Hop over and check out YSS.

Here are some of my completed assignments: "Rain"... she loves holding her umbrella..... even when it is a bright and sunny day. And she can boldly ask for RAIN!!!! LOL I like this die cut paper but it is a little too busy. Simple - just use a cardstock to balance it out. Can you spot a Prima green packaging, that's my hidden journaling. I placed the title on the umbrella die cut from MME. And this AC thicker font is my fave this season. "Salutations" I hid a big Prima Flower here.... roll and distress the papers a little.
Another one "EVERYDAY"
Every DT gets to scraplift June (BBhome)'s work this month.....
Here's my interpretation of her (Be inspired)..... I clustered a lot of embellishments around the photo.

the Flu bug strikes twice!! Arrrgggg

Hello friends, here's a tired and sick mommy waving 'Hi'...... I guess some scrapping and blogging keeps me sane! Some random facts that happen this week
  • My vacuum cleaner died.... and it went off with a blast. It 'exploded' and sparks of 'fire' went out, along with smoke. And then it trips our electricity circuit board. hahaha... what a drama!
  • My little one got hit with the nasty flu bug again!!!! Vomiting, stomach ache
  • My tooth acted up again...... this time, can't do with just cleaning or painkillers. I took it out on Tues... yucks... I hate going to the dentist. Now I can't talk much. This is NOT the worst part... I got to do dental implants in 2 months time...... the thoughts just freaks me out. The drama unfolds when I was at the dentist. My hands were shivering..... my body went weak when they inject into my gums and yank out that tooth.

Now onto happier stuff, scrapping! I manage to complete 2 mini this week for YSS.

"Wedding Album" using Teresa Collins. Lots of lovely cuts out.

Baby Album for my soon coming niece........ I titled it 'of cm and Kg' cos that how we measure (in metric) in Singapore. Each page has a calendar with Height and Weight. I love this piece of paper from Teresa Collins.

INside: Simple and easy for my Sister's journaling and recording.

Hop over to YSS....... more new arrivals this week.

Oh... another happy matter. I may be travelling to Brisbane during June. I think it is end June.

Any recommendations of scrapping stores. hee..hee.. i had to check them out. I know some Aussie friends do drop by here, it will be nice to hear from you. (Waving to you!)

YSS assignments

This months, YSS sent me a HUGE box of goodies. Seriously, I dont know where to start. After much 'staring' at all the goodies, I begin with the Teresa Collins Bebe girl collection. LO: Adore I followed LG's sketch for YSS for this LO. Did a 8.5x11 instead. And this flower is sooooo everywhere now. I had to make 1 myself. I stuff a trim as the centre. Don't you think it look like a cupcake! LOL I went clean lines with this "BeBe" too. She looks like a cute puppy? That's my younger girl when she was about 6 or 8 months. I can't remember. After doing clean lines, I have to do a shabby chic style. I can't run away from my style. haha. I layered a lace (actually curtain sheer) over cardstock. Love love the textures. Distress and tear papers to create a grid. Can you spot my Hambly Doily rubon and my Tattered Angels Butterflies. Have been hoarding these!!! Thanks for dropping by. Happy National Scrapbooking Day! And YSS is giving a 2 day special.......... 25% off everything in the store. Including sale items. That's a good deal. Check them out here and more giveaways at the blog. Happy shopping!

Under the Dear Lizzy Spell

I am trying out a different style than my usual shabby chic way. And seriously I am in love with the Dear Lizzy Collections. Here's 1 LO I did "The miracle of the Bike". It's amazing that she just stepped onto the bike and could paddle and move forward No more back breaking practices for us!!! Techniques: - I misted with blue mist and cloud and then I doodle the outline of the clouds - did some cutting with the banners... And after watching Elizabeth Kartchner on American Crafts blog, I had to make these flowers. I made 7 in under an hour. Using my fabric stash. Wow... that was easy! I made a cluster and altered my girls white tee. Cute-nesss!!! I found a stash of Prima bling bling centres. Perfect for this flower And made more here! The pink polka dot is made from Dear Lizzy fabric paper. My fave! And speaking of stash, I decided to do a random RAK with my blog followers. I can't thank you enough...... (hugs) I see many new faces! thank you thank you! So, this RAK will go to one of my blog followers..... I will draw a winner on Monday. You still have time to add your name there! And I will add in some of the above handmade flowers!!! thanks for dropping by with your sweet comments!
If you have not gotten any Dear Lizzy papers or fabric pp, get them from YSS.
Your scrapbookstash has everything from Dear Lizzy.

Projects for YSS

What inspires you? For me, it has to be words. I am inspired by words which I want to journal down. Stories which I want to tell. Funny things my kids say... or even things in my heart/mind which are unspoken. I have been following Creative Therapy for 2 months... I think.... And I am always inspired by the prompt. So, I did 1 this week for Creative Therapy Catalyst #104 "What advice do you have for other couples?" So appropriate cos one beautiful couple will be tying the knot this saturday and I decided to make them this card and also my words inserted inside the gaps of the layers. The cover: See this page: Advice to the husband "Love your wife"...... LOL Actually it is from a Bible Text in Ephesians where Paul exhorts the husband to love the wife as Christ love the church.
And this... all wives will shudder a little. Just like me
But I still believe in Biblically teachings "Wife, submit to your husband."
I believe in this God given order for the family. So that there be bliss and harmony. Here I will journal more of my thoughts and experiences.
Sharing my 13 years of marriage.
Another piece of advice: TAKE TIME... so important to take time to play, to date each other, have fun!
A marriage is just like a garden which requires our time and effort if we want to see it bloom and grow.
Behind this punchout area, I will insert a tag for the wife.
And finally, i use my Graphic 45 goodies on this altered canvas.
It measures 25cm by 50cm.
My present for this great couple.
Wishing all joy and bliss in this happy journey together!!! All products can be found at YSS.
And remember, 20% off at YSS this March, including sale items.
Join me at YSS blog this week as I will be blog hostess!!!

Mar Assignments for YSS

Woohoo... how are you, my friends? Hope your weekend was fun! I received my Mar DT box from YSS last thurs and I went to 'work' over the weekend. I get to work with Graphic 45 "Le Romantique' papers.... i love the colors... so girly.. so romantic.. and of course that piece with butterflies is my fave! LO 1: "Warning to all future suitors" I used my Anna Griffin die cut paper as the background. And I went with a grid to put 4 photos into 1 LO. I just had to mist the papers a bit.. loving my "Vintage Pink' and "walnut gold". Journaling: Warning to all future darling suitors. She has shown huge interest in shoes at a young age. Huge potential to be high maintenance".. hee..hee..." LO2: ...... "Share" This is from LG "Friday Sketch"...... I rotate the sketch and place all the flowers and accents in a row under the photo. did you spot some misting... my Vintage Pink and Walnut Gold just go so well with this line of papers. And I love this picture of Charis and I sharing a joke... we always laugh crazily over her silly stuff. This is my life and I love it!
LO 3: "See possibilities" This Month, the chosen member for YSS is "Catherine aka ScrappyCat".... all DT will get to scraplift her. She did a Graphic 45 LO "Like Movie stars' where she used lots of tags and die cuts and cut outs... I lifted that idea and use it to mat my photos. This LO is a reminder to myself to see possiblities in people, in things.. in opportunities... I wrote my journaling and hide it in that Maya Road Kraft envelope. Can you spot my gold misting? I am loving pink and gold lately. All supplies seen here available from YSS. And dont forget you can participate in many on going contests at YSS: - load your LOs to our User Gallery. You may be chosen as the Featured Monthly Member. Win some goodies - Sketch Friday.... yes... follow our Friday sketch, load it up and you can win more goodies Did you see the Graphic 45 finalists? Wow... what a long list. Good luck to all the talented ladies. I didn't apply for the dt call this year... guess I just dont feel up to it. Thanks for popping by, my friends!

Here's another one

Here's another LO done for YSS using Pink Paislee Cupid papers and Elle's Studio tags. Love how the tags add a vertical interest to the page. LOVE My fav has to be the pleating.... I added my shabby chic touches.. I distress the edges of the papers first before pleating.... more textures that way! You like it? Love this big chipboard letter from Maya Road. Just mist it with Maya Mist(Red) and it gets that nice intense colour. THen I inked the edges a bit for definition. That XOXO tag from Elle Studio will house my journaling... it can be pulled out. Just playing with papers... I roll some strips of paper and made this 'weird' flower.. hahaha.. dont know what to call it but a happy accident, I guess. Then I just add some trims for the centers.
All supplies provided by YSS.
