my beautiful home

Here is a big project I did this week. This involved our entire family. My children helped paint the fence.......... hubby constructed the fence onto the corrugated board... (this engineering training helps)....... while I 'decorate' the house. This house is not 'ready-made'....... I constructed it out of flat chipboard sheets...... the roof is removable....... and we can house a album inside. This house will be our main home decor item this Christmas. I like the title "Home is where our heart is"......... aptly put cos the entire family put this house together. Of course, those cute horse, sheep and mouse belongs to the kids. LOL! Join me as we take a closer look at this house: Layer 3 different papers at the background. I heat emboss with a nice brown swirl at the sides. I love to add details. I cut the heart from Websters Vellum sheet. The words "Home" comes from one of the papers. I heat emboss CLEAR UTEE on the word "HOME". And that hanging motif....... cute too. Heat emboss with CLEAR UTEE to highlight it. Can you spot a Melissa Frances key and keyhole. I have been hoarding that for a long time. This tree was much taller...... I had to 'chop' it shorter... see how I created a tree truck with twine. I love that texture. Added some Prima pearls on the tree to mimic lights. The sides of the house: that owl had to be there... I love that... i placed a metal heart hanging from the roof. Oh... another cute detail: I made this window with 'curtains' from Websters Trims. Do you like it? Close up look of the hanging motif : Heat Emboss with Clear Utee.
Oooo... the roof with 'snow'...... Tim Holtz technique last year... make snow...... the texture is amazing. I also dripped some white candle wax on it.
I love how the vellum sheet looks on the roof.
These cute mouse...........
The fence is hard work....... painted many times........ and then with crackle paint.
Hope you like it........... come back next to see the album inside the house. I am still adding photos and journaling.
Oh... btw, I have good news.... I am back for another term as DT for YSS......it is just announced on the blog.....
I am so thankful.

YSS

YSS sent me some lovely My Mind's Eye Holidays papers. "Merry Days of Christmas" is a very vintage red, green line "Colourful Christmas" is a cheerful pink, blue line. I love both because they are so 'scrap-able"...... LOL LO1: Merry and Bright First time I scrap about my tree......maybe this year... I added some soft stuff toys which makes it so warm. I love the look of my tree. LO2: BFF Scrap my Hongkong photos.... my girl and her BFF...... this line of papers are perfect for these pictures. Cute, cheerful and just gorgeous papers! I love love the 2 girls motif from the die cut. They are perfect for this LO. Card cum gift holder: I am swarm with gift wrapping and I decided to personalise some ..... made this card with a Maya Road Kraft Envelope inside to hold a gift card for a friend.
Ornaments cum tags:
Ok... ok.. I started Dec with huge ambitions... I have to make some ornaments..... but as time passed.. I ran out of time... so I wanted more 'time' for these ornaments....... they will still make their way to my tree but I have another purpose for them. I will use them as gift tags on top of my presents....... that explains why the letter "T"... "L".... "J"...
So these 'ornaments' will enjoy a longer time....... hee..hee... A close up look at 1: Another look on my Christmas tree
Btw, the glitter transparent thing is a PRIMA Transparency. Love the gold glitter. Perfect for Christmas.
All supplies come from YSS.

more websters (GDT)

Hello, I am back with more of what I did as GDT for Websters. I can't stop........ I love their Christmas papers too. My girl: I used lots of the "Home for Christmas" papers... but added my touch. I cut a 'hole' and layer more papers underneath and a row of 3 pictures of my cutie pie. There are so many gorgeous elements to cut from these papers.. that cute house.... the hanging ornaments.... oh.. i seriously fall in love with these papers. Just love this deer peeking from the corner. Added some flowers. Oh... this cute house... I cut the frame of the door..... back it up with another green paper... added word stickers. Love the cute door! Textures... textures... textures... I am huge on creating textures and feel. I mix Multi Medium, pearl ex powder and glitter. So fun! And I just brush it over this red polka dot papers. Love love the final effect. It has this shimmer, glitter texture! Wish you can touch it!
Finding your voice:
This is a heartfelt LO for me as my girl is growing up and finding her voice.
Journaling reads:
My dear girl, you are growing up. Today we went to a Gap store and you started telling me your vision of an outfit. You wanted a crop jacket to top it off. Very specific in what you want. I let you pick a set of clothes and this is the final look. I love it! YOu have such great taste......... hmm... I wonder where that came from? I find that you are finding your own style, discovering your own voice & asserting your own self. This is a great process and we are cheering you on all the way, girly!
